Merry Christmas to you too Ian. Missing strictly already. Why oh why is it not coming to Newcastle this year? Great shame xxx
After a truly blockbuster weekend of screen gems featured in the Strictly Movie Week, ending in the departure of the people's favourite: Ann Widdecombe, it's all eyes on the prize as the couples dance headlong toward the Strictly semi-finals this coming weekend! It really does make for an exciting photo-finish of a competition - and all the couples will be firmly focused on the finish line... and that ever-elusive glitterball trophy!
So sorry we won't be seeing you again this series!! I hope the BBC realise how much you were missed this year and have you back in the main show competing with a celeb where you belong! I'm sure you will see Ian's International Angels at various events throughout the year - showing their unswerving support. Lots of Love always, Sharon
di parker commented on 09-Dec-2010 01:58 PM
So sad that last weekend's fabulous showdance turned out to be your last of the series, I too will be fervently hoping to see you back in the competition next year. It's not been the same without you, and this sentiment has been echoed by many people. If there are events planned for the new year, fear not, the IIA will be there, and hopefully I'll manage to join them this time!
Have a wonderful Christmas! Di xx
Chris Cracknell commented on 09-Dec-2010 02:11 PM
Can you feel the Angel tears! I agree with everything that Sharon and Di have said. Can't believe we won't be seeing you anymore this series! Everywhere there are comments on how you have been missed, so BBC take notice, WE WANT OUR IAN BACK NEXT SERIES! The Angels are here as always with our unwavering support and commitment to you. Don't forget to keep us posted as to where you are performing, so we can come show our support. Happy Christmas and a very happy and successful 2011. Love Always Chris xx

Hi Ian, so sorry that your time in this series of Strictly is over. I too hope that you'll be re-instated as one of the main couples next year; you've been really missed! Have a great Christmas and New Year. Love Sarah xx
Tracey Smith commented on 09-Dec-2010 11:37 PM
Such sad news that we won't be seeing you in SCD anymore this year. The series has been sadly lacking your style and grace on the dance floor, your partnership with a celebrity and your humour on on ITT. Lets hope that the BEEB see sense for next and realise what everyone, not just your angels, has been missing. Enjoy your weekend away and hope that you have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year. Look forward to continuing our angelic support at your events next year. Fingers crossed for Natalie on Saturday to get through to the final!
You'll be pleased to know that I'm now well-and-truly rested after the live tour, having had several lovely short breaks away - one of which being the fabulous wedding of Camilla and Kevin in glorious Ibiza. Did you all see the pictures in Hello! magazine?… Didn't we all look lovely!

Hi ian, welcome back, we have missed you. Glad to hear that you all rested and have put on some much needed weight, your angels were worried that you were working too hard. Keep up the updates we love hearing about forthcoming events, and we will all make sure we have your strictly dates marked on our calendar, and hopefully see you on it every week next year.

Great to hear from you at last, though the dates are too late for us to now only apply for shows you are appearing on! Glad you have had a well deserved rest. It was so lovely to see you and Natalie in Reading recently - you two together really are magical. Love the reference to Planet Waite (the Angels headquarters) but great news is our www.iansinternationalangels.com website is currently being updated by our lovely Dutch angel and should be looking fab some time early October so please pop in for a visit. Hope to see you soon. Take good care of your lovely self xxx

Hi Ian, thanks for updating the blog and for letting us know when you're on Strictly. Sorry for hustling you on Twitter btw! Here's hoping a few more dates are added, and maybe the odd ITT appearance. Got everything crossed that we see you back next year training a celeb. Glad you're feeling rested and fit for action (hope you got some tennis in!), touring must have been gruelling. Hopefully I'll have a record of it winging it's way to you (and your nan) soon! Just got some finishing touches to do and job's a goodun. Thanks for being so lovely in southampton, and so sorry I couldn't make it to Reading. Gutted, but all's well now. Looking forward to some heavier waite dancing! Di xxx

I was lucky enough to see the Tour four times, and each time was magical, but, undoubtably, it was your Showdance that stole the show. You and Natalie are brilliant together and light up the floor with your dazzling dancing and your sheer air of 'joie de vivre'. I'm now really looking forward to the Pro Tour.
Tracey Smith commented on 16-Mar-2010 10:50 PM

Thanks for the Christmas card. Hope your festive season has been good! I must say I'm missing my weekly Ian fix :o(
Firstly, thank you to everyone who has supported Jade and I throughout series 7 of Strictly Come Dancing. Unfortunately Jade’s injury meant that we were unable to continue the competition, even more gutting, considering we were not even voted off. To see the amazing development in Jade week-on-week was astounding and she was someone who truly went on the biggest journey. I will miss Jade but hopefully we will be back to dance that Tango in the final! Read more...
I thought you were supporting Anton and Laila?? I remember you saying on SCD ITT you were going to vote for them in their Jive week due to her disastrous performance.. A change of mind perhaps? ;) I hope they make it to the final, but they won't win.
I know Ricky can dance, but so can Ali! Have to say, I admire her ability to endure the pain her injuries gives her, and yet still she dance, and with a smile..
I'm sorry to say, I don't like Ricky much and for that reason I'm not supporting him.
I'm sorry you and Jade have gone, truly I am. I'm convinced you would have won it had she been able to carry on.. Hopefully she'l be able to dance a little on finals night.
Thanks for listening and, keeeeep smiling x
Karin Aston commented on 30-Nov-2009 07:26 PM
Dear Ian, Please, please come back to SCD soon! I'm getting withdrawal symptoms not getting to watch my favourite pro dancer. I truly miss you and Jade as I think you had a great relationship and it was nice to see an athlete such as Jade turn her fitness into some beautiful dancing. I was very disappointed not to see your tango and as I will be in Sweden for the final I have to wait 'til January to see it on Sky+. I'm also upset at not seeing you two do a rumba as I think it would have been beautiful. Not sure who to vote for anymore! Oh well, I'll just have to wait for the Strictly Live Tour cheer me up! Please pass my well wishes on to Jade and tell her there are a few more fans out there to cheer her on in future. Enjoy your life of (temporary?) leisure!!! Lots of love, Karin Aston

I like Ricky, but Ali is just as good, and they'll both be in the final. I'd support Chris, seeing as he needs more popularity votes because the talent votes won't be as high for him. Sad as he's seems such a nice guy- a bit like you :) Still very much looking forward to seeing that now famous tango, and of course the next pro dance you'll be partaking in. I'm also pleased to note that, although you're still missed, the hole in my dancing heart is healing nicely. But don't think you're off the hook because of that- I still want to see you as much as poss. Which reminds me, will you be taking part in the SCD Tour? It would really make my day/week/month/year/century if you were! Lots of hugs and love- Your No 1 Fan (next to the Angels, because no-one could ever beat them for dedication)

Hey Ian, I'm fairly new here on your site but I have been a fan of yours ever since SCD began. You are always my favorite and there was so much potential for you and Jade this year to get into the finals. Seeing you dance always cheers me up and I really really missed you last Saturday, but I'm sure you're gonna make up for that! Keeeeeep dancing.... Lots of love. Willy (from Holland)
Lavengro commented on 01-Dec-2009 05:35 PM
Although I loved Saturday's Strictly, it would have been so much better if you and Jade had been dancing. Either of the two new dances would have suited Jade and you would have both looked majestic in the Viennese Waltz. Ricky has been my second favourite right from the start and I had been hoping that you and Jade were going to pip him at the post in the final. Like most other Strictly fans, I can't wait to see you Tango but, hopefully, we will have your pro dances and ITT appearances to keep our spirits up until then. Another disappointment for us has been that you are not dancing with a celebrity on the Tour but please let us know if you will be taking Len's place as a judge as well as dancing with Natalie as that would cheer us up no end. Love to you and Jade from one of your dedicated Angels. xx
Ruby commented on 01-Dec-2009 09:10 PM
Glad you're having a chance to relax, but equally happy you'll be involved with the pro dances still. What would I do without my dose of Ian? :o)
And I can't wait for the tango at the final - holding thumbs it all works out.
Enjoy your new washing machine! Glorious domesticity. Clean clothes. Contentment.

Hi Ian,
Am missing seeing you and Jade dancing on Saturday nights, you really did light up the dance floor. You worked your magic so marvelously (as you always do with your celeb partners) and Jade was developing into a swan. I have my fingers crossed that you will be able to amaze us again with your tango in the final or maybe the Christmas Special. Your last ITT interview with Jade was possibly the most emotional and lovliest I have seen on ITT. Hope to see you dance on Saturday. don't like Strictly without you, you make the show sparkle! As one of your new angels (never thought I would be able to call myself an angel - there another miracle you have performed), you will always have my continued love and support.
By the way, I hear you made some of your angels a promise at Trunkwell, about your pressy. Don't forget! He he
Take care. Love Chris xx

I am missing you both so much already - I hate my post-strictly withdrawal symptoms, and now I have them early! I am so sad about what happened, but at least I hope it will be a small comfort that everyone still wanted you to stay in! I can't believe how much Jade changed - she seemed much happier and more relaxed. And graceful! I envy you both. I would give so much to be tall and graceful. I hope so much that Jade's injury heals quickly and we can see that Tango. I can't wait. I still get goosebumps when I remember the Tango you did with Zoe. But I was hoping you might do a Charleston too - that would have been great! Take care and please say you'll be back for another shot at the glitterball next year! We all love you!

Ian I thought you were Mr Diplomacy and now you've gone andn nailed your colours to the mast! I think Ali is the best dancer but I want either Chris or Ricky to win because they're more exciting. Speaking of exciting - like others I wait for the long promised tango that will be tinged with the sadness of what might have been. Jade and you doing the Charleston would have been priceless - I think it would have suited better than rock n roll - I can just imagine the pair of you hamming it up. It makes me titter just to think of you two and then I'm sad again ...
Yes Jade really did develop as a person as well as a dancer and I thought your personality REALLY shone through this year too. Fab-u-lous darling x

I feel so much for Jade. She had been getting better and better and to have her knee go - so awful for an Olympic athlete. I was hoping to see you both lift the Strictly trophy this year and Jade get her gold in 2012. I am STILL hoping for that.
I hope Jade is able both physically and mentally to compete again in Strictly. I know you will give her loads of support and help her through if she can continue.
If our best wishes do any good, you will be back and at the top next week. And I hope I see that tango sometime. It will be the best.

Thanks for the update - more than we seemed to get on ITT tonight. I wish Jade and you well. I am gutted for you both on so many levels. There is so much love out there for you with the public - those who have been with you both all the way and many who have warmed to your partnership over the weeks. You have never disappointed and I was certain you would be in the final, if not win it. I really hope that this injury is not so severe that Jade has to withdraw from SCD but I'd understand if she wouldn't want to take any further risks as she can't afford to aggravate it by dancing on when her athletic achievements are at stake.
Wishing all the best for the scan and look forward to a more positive update soon.

It was such a shame that you and Jade didn't get a chance to perform your tango on Saturday - it looked stunning in the rehearsal footage. I hope that Jade's knee recovers in time for you both to rejoin the show on Saturday, as it wasn't the same without you!
Jacqui commented on 16-Nov-2009 09:24 PM
Sending you both my best wishes and hopes that Jade's knee is better soon, either for Strictly or at least so that it doesn't disrupt her long-jump training. If you two need to pull out of Strictly you will be terribly missed but you have been wonderful every week and will NOT have let anyone down. If you can't dance the tango then the Beeb should at least show the dress rehearsal footage (if you're OK with that) and I'm going to write to them to beg them! Good luck and health and happiness again. x

We were all looking forward to at last seeing you dance the Tango again, and were really excited by all the comments we were hearing about it. Our thoughts now are all with Jade and fingers crossed that the scan reveals nothing serious. The most important thing is to get her knee right, and make sure she is fit to continue her long jump training. Strictly is only a show and not that importnat in the scheme of things. Get well soon to Jade, I hope she's ok and it's not anything serious. Was so disappointed not to see your Tango on Saturday night, you're my favourite couple this year and I'll be really sad if you can't continue in the competition this year, but most importantly I hope Jade will be able to continue her long jump training. Best of luck - xx

Poor Jade. I really hope the news from the scan is good as I really want you to stay in the competition and reach the final, so hopefully, we will get to see your Tango. However, although I would be devastated if she has to pull out of Strictly, it is imperative that Jade's athletic career is not put in jeopardy. My heart goes out to you both at this worrying time.

Just wanted to pass my best wishes on to Jade. You're my favourite couple of the series, I've really enjoyed watching you both dance and seeing how much Jade was improving each week. I have my fingers crossed that the scan results are positive and at the very least that Jade's long jump training will not be too badly affected. If we get to see you dance again on strictly it will be a bonus. xx

I figured something was wrong when you didn't appear on Saturday, but to find out what was just awful. I feel so much for poor Jade. I hope she gets well VERY soon and her career isn't affected. I'm sorry for you too, as I know you were looking forward to the tango and I have no doubt it would have been brilliant. I know that Jade's athletics are paramount, and I don't want to sound selfish, but my interest dipped steeply when you weren't there, and if you had to withdraw I would lose 80% of why I watch SCD. I say 'Get Well Soon' to Jade, and to you I say 'Get Dancing Soon'. Love you Ian, you've always been my fave!

Hi Jade and Ian, Saturday night wasn't the same without you both, so very sorry about Jade's injury. Both of you have been fantastic to watch and fingers cross you will win. Take care with love.xxx

So so sorry about the injury. It looked like it was going to be a terrifiic dance. What a thing to happen but Jade's career must come first. Just hope one day we can see that lovely tango.
Hope her knee gets better soon and we see you Ian back on SCD very soon.
Best wishes to you both.

Echoing previous wishes, Jade's well-being is the first priority. Your genuine partnership has charmed us thoroughly; fingers crossed it will have the chance again. I would like to say Ian that your dancing enthralls and entertains, and you have a unique combination of savviness and innocence that is magic; thank you for sharing your passion. It is contagious!

Hi Ian
I hope you & Jade will be able to dance tomorrow. Will you be in any of the Pro Dances?

So sad you and Jade will no longer be competing in Strictly Come Dancing. I've loved your partnership, and can't wait to see your tango at the final!

Hi Ian, i just wanted to say that Ian and I (remember us from my dancing lesson with you in June?) are so sad that we won't be seeing you and Jade perform in the rest of series seven, you've been the highlight of each show for us, and Jade has blossomed into a beautiful dancer, thanks to lots of hard work and your natural ability as a teacher. I really do hope that Jade will continue to dance in her own time. Looking forward to seeing you on the strictly live tour (fingers crossed - we hope you're in it this year? as I need my Ian Waite Fix) Lots of love Annette Jones (Dancing Angel) xxx

Poor Jade. I really felt for her last night. Such a terrible shame you have had to pull out of the competition when you had such a strong chance of winning this year. The show has lost all its sparkle for me now, and for all the other International Angels. Seeing you and Jade was the highlight of our week. Take care See you soon Sharon xx

Gutted for you both. Had you down for the final and maybe winning. Jade has improved enormously - well done Ian. Hope she will be OK and hoping to see you in some pro dances xxx

Hi Ian So sorry you and Jade were unable to continue. Best wishes to you both. Really enjoyed your dance when Shirley Bassey was singing on Saturday. Hope to see you dance in the pro dances as I love your style.
Marguerite commented on 23-Nov-2009 09:47 AM
I had really missed both of you from a week ago and then was upset Saturday to know you would no longer be competing with Jade. I'm going to mail her separately. You so deserved to win this year as you have been one of the best of the pro dancers over the years. Jade was a really good match for you - her strength and fitness helping you both do better and better routines. Plus, your personality was much more to the fore this year and I for one really liked it. Whether this was her effect or not, I'm not sure. I hope you do SCD next year and WIN.
Jennie commented on 23-Nov-2009 12:27 PM
Hi Ian, it's so sad that you and Jade can't compete anymore as you were so good together and I feel you could have won this year. I hope Jade recovers quickly so you are to do your Tango in the Final which I know you're both so desperate to do and we'd loved to see. I hope we're still going to see you in the pro dances as I love watching you dance. Best wishes to both of you. xx
Carol commented on 23-Nov-2009 03:27 PM
Ian, I am gutted that you and Jade are unable to continue SCD and can't imagine how badly you both feel. I hope Jade's injury heals soon and that there is no impact on her career. And I hope you continue to dazzle with your pro dances - Saturday's dance was magical. Birthday coming soon so my fingers are crossed for a trip from Ireland for some more dance lessons with you xxx
Thought you might like to see some of the lovely things posted on the BBC forum about you and Jade

What can I say? I'm so sorry to see you go. You and Jade were great and could have won. What am I do with my Saturday nights now? Not that I'm being horrible, because I understand Jade's career is important. PLEASE come do the tango when she gets better- doesn't matter to me when that is!
Carole Southward commented on 27-Nov-2009 01:26 PM
Hi Ian, I am gutted you cannot carry on with Strictly I really thought you could win it this year, Jade hasn't done a bad dance all the way through you were both brilliant, but understand Jade has to put her career first. I am looking forward to seeing you on the strictly tour! Best wishes to both of you!

It won't be the same without you. Last week was dulled by your absence, and I expect this week to fare no better. Jade's athletics are the most important, I know, but I'm going to miss you. Your partnership was so great. From now on I'm watching for the pro dances! So please try to show in as many as possible. Once again, love you! *enormous hug*
Lavengro commented on 27-Nov-2009 09:45 PM
Strictly is so dull without you and Jade and this week will be no exception. You and Jade would have stolen the show with your Charleston or Rock and Roll and you would have outdanced everyone in the VW competition. I feel so sad for you and Jade missing out on such a good chance of lifting the glitterball. The only thing keeping me going is seeing your pro dances, glimpses of you on ITT and your Tango in the final. Hopefully, there will be a return of the Dream Team next week for the Midweek Report. xx
